In my first carreer I worked as a Stage Carpenter for live theatre, I left theatre to go work on a television series as a stage carpenter from telvision where I learnt to be a grip on film and television productions. After 15 years in the entertainment industry I moved to the pacific ocean to work with boats. I worked for a salmon fishing lodge on sport fishing boats and realized I needed to learn more on propper repair and maintenance of small vessels. In the fall of 2000 I enrolled as a student in the Small Vessel Fabrication and Repair program in Honolulu. Upon graduating from Honolulu Community College I worked in the marine industry in Hawaii until in the fall of 2006 when I was then invited to return to Honolulu Community College as an instructor. I am a Certified Composite Technician through the ACMA and will sit for the CCT-I this spring. I have worked on the plug's and mold's for a 57' Hawaiian Double Hull Voyaging Canoe, a 46' Hawaiian Double Hull Canoe, and a 22' Hawaiian outrigger surf canoe. We are currently finishing the layup of our second 46' voyaging canoe utilizing divinycell foam, 22 OZ. triaxial reinforcement and Pro-set epoxy resin.

I would like to send kudo's to The folks at ProBoat that were involed with the composites seminar this week. I hope that Ms. Walsh's job is on the marine carreer ladder for she was obviously working hard on the composites seminar and virtual trade show.
