My name is john Hermanson, I am an Muslim American, married to a
Kuwaiti, I have three children and have lived in Kuwait for 7 years,
I was raised in Naples, Italy
I have done a variety of work in Kuwait
and around the world and I am trying to make it here on my own. I come
from a diverse background. I am considered a third country kid,
(www.TCKID.com) in my youth I lived in many countries and was exposed
to many cultures.
Marine specialist/ engineer with comprehensive experience in
Boatbuilding , Ship repair and Shipbuilding Industry.
My resume is difficult first I am a third generation NAVY brat. since
I did my first trans Atlantic on a 50 footer sail boat at the age of
ten (10), Was a SEA Scout, Boy scout and Demolay, Raised in a military
family overseas in Italy, have been sailing, live aboard KID, and
working on yachts since my child hood, be it crew for the weekend beer
can race, washing boats at the local marina, or part time at boat
yards, was trained by the U.S.N.A. sailing instructors, in sailing and
seamanship, spent time on a British diesel submarine, sailed around
the Mediterranean all as a sea scout before I was 17 years old, at 17
worked as paid crew on a dutch TALL Ship. Earned my SIX passenger
Captains license inshore at 19, and lost it at 21 due to a conviction
for d.u.i. at 22 was indoctrinated, in the Ship repair industry in
Norfolk Virginia.and worked at Central Radio Corp. at the metro
machiene ship yard. Have worked in May boat yards and manufacturing
facilities world wide as a traveling boat builder , Wooden and classic
yacht restoration and up keep and yacht design study.
professionally my education has encompassed: Knowledge of engineering
principles and procedures, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering,
design applications, equipment and systems appropriate to related
disciplines. I am Skilled in applying engineering principles and
procedures, engineering design applications, strong interpersonal
skills, and problem solving capabilities, have the intrinsic ability
to perform design integration on complex projects, excellent
communication skills, strong leadership skills and an ability to gain
credibility across all levels of the business . knowledge of AutoCAD,
and other design software, hands-on, team oriented and committed to
business improvement processes, strong knowledge in writing
specifications, strong project and management skills, ability to
manage multiple priorities, ability to effectively communicate.
